Bai Xueshi (白雪石)

baixueshiBai Xueshi (1915-2011) was from Beijing. From a young age, he studied with acknowledged masters. In the years 1937-1948, his work was exhibited at solo and group exhibitions. He was a member of various associations, including the Chinese Painting Research Association. In 1958, he joined the Beijing Art School, the Beijing Art Academy and the Central Academy of Fine Arts, where he taught and eventually became a professor. Bai was a landscape painter, and he produced numerous large paintings for the Zhongnanhai government compound, the Great Hall of the People, the Beijing Hotel and the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.
