Hua Kexiong (1921-2010) was from Tianjin. He graduated in 1947 from the Western Painting Department of the National Beiping Art School and became an assistant instructor there. In 1950, he joined the Chinese People’s Liberation Army and continued creating art work and working as an art editor. He retired as a cadre from the Creative Office of the Political Department of the Second Artillery. Hua’s works span water colors, gouaches and sketches.
