Su Guang (苏光)

Su Guang (1919) is from Hongdong, Shanxi Province. After he entered the Art Department of the Lu Xun Art Academy in Yan'an in 1941, he became editor of the Jinsui People's Illustrated (Jinsui renmin huabao, 晋绥人民画报) in 1945. In 1949, he became editor of the Southwest Illustrated (Xinan huabao, 西南画报) in Chongqing. Su transfered to Beijing in 1951 to become art editor at the People's Daily (Renmin ribao, 人民日报). In 1957, he returned to Shanxi to work for the Masses Illustrated (Qunzhong huabao, 群众画报). He retired in 1983.

Su is known for his cartoons, woodcuts and New Year prints. His work has been included in the collection of the China Art Gallery.
