Wang Weixin (王维新)

Wang Weixin (1938) hails from Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, and graduated from the Blockprint Department of the Zhejiang Art Academy in 1963. He became a journalist and editor of the art and photography department of the Shanghai Liberation Daily (Jiefang ribao, 解放日报) in 1978. In 1980, he graduated from the Blockprint Refresher Course at the Central Art Academy and took up teaching. He later became Associate Professor and Head of the Etching Office of the Blockprint Department of the Central Art Academy.

Wang specializes in etchings and waterpaint paintings.
