Zhang Pincao (1936) comes from Anji, Zhejiang Province. He graduated in 1961 from the Chinese Painting Department of the Zhejiang Art Academy and subsequently spent his time teaching. He now is Associate Professor at his alma mater.

Zhang is an expert in figurative painting and Chinese painting.
