Bai Fangjing (1937) was born in Weihai, Shandong Province. He started his education in 1955 in the Drawing Department of the East China Art School, but graduated in 1958 as a professional oil painter from the Lu Xun Art Academy. Upon finishing his training, he stayed on at the Academy as a teacher and later as a professor.

Bai is known for his propaganda designs and oil paintings.
