Chen Dexi (1936-2012, Shantou, Guangdong Province) studied Socialist Realist Oil Painting at the Nanjing Academy of Arts and graduated in 1957. After the Sino-Soviet split, Chen was sent to the Jiangsu Chinese Painting Academy. There, he taught and painted figures until 1982, when he emigrated to Hong Kong.

Chen cooperated with Feng Jianqin.
