Li Bin (1939) was born in Tieling, Liaoning Province. After he started working as a teacher in a primary school in 1966, he painted in his spare time. In 1973, he was tranferred to the cultural center in Tianshui, Gansu Province, where he still resides.

Li specializes in New Year pictures and cartoon strips.
