Li Xiangyang (李向阳)

Li Xiangyang (1953, Shanghai) joined the People's Liberation Army in 1973; while in the Art Troupe of the Jinan Air Force, he engaged in stage design. In 1981, he transferred to the Art Creation Group of the Political Department of the Air Force in Jinan. He transferred to the Shanghai Armed Police in 1985, where he now is the deputy-head of the Propaganda and Culture Office of the Political Department.

Li is mainly known for his oil paintings, but his water colors and propaganda designs have earned him acclaim as well. He received prizes for his oil paintings and propaganda work.
