Li Xiongcai (黎雄才)

lixiongcaiLi Xiongcai (1910-2001) was a native of Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province. He was a contemporary Chinese painter, art educator, and outstanding representative of the Lingnan School of Painting. He was good at huge landscape paintings, and at flowers, birds, grass and insects' paintings. His works were vigorous and full of style.

Li's work "Xiaoxiang Night Rain" in the early 1930s won the Gold Medal at the Belgian International Exposition. The "Wuhan Flood Control Picture Scroll" created in 1954 was hailed as the "Epic of Anti-Flood" by art critics.
