Li Yang (1963) was born in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. From 1981 to 1985, he studied at the Chinese Painting Department of the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts. After graduation, he stayed in the school to teach. Now, he is an associate professor of the Chinese Painting Department of the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, and the deputy director of the Chinese Rock Color Art Research Center.
