Qian Yunxuan (1943) was born in Jiangdu, Jiangsu Province. He graduated from the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts in 1966. After graduation, Qian was assigned to work in Xi'an Film Studio. His nine years of formal art education in the high school attached to the Academy of Fine Arts also came in handy when he was engaged in film and television art.
