Shao Keping (邵克萍)
Shao Keping (1916-2010) was from Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. He initially trained at the White Swan Painting School in Shanghai. During the Anti-Japanese War, he worked as an art editor with the Nationalities' Daily (Minzu ribao, 民族日报) in Zhejiang and started to work on woodcuts, a genre for which he is best known. After the founding of the People's Republic, he worked in the Cultural Bureau in Shanghai and the Shanghai Art Press.
Aside from woodcuts, Shao was recognized for his New Year prints.
