The poster shown here was originally designed in August 1967. A hundred copies were put up on Beijing's most important streets. In late September, early October 1967, Wang copied and enlarged the image to measure 22 metres by 9 metres. Hanging on the west side of Tiananmen Square, more than half a million people, including Mao Zedong himself, saw it during the 1 October festivities.
