Ya Ming (亚明)

yamingYa Ming (1924-2002), officialy known as Ye Jiabing (叶家炳), was born in Hefei, Anhui Province. He graduated from the Huainan Academy of Fine Arts in 1941. He joined the revolution early on, and served as a journalist, art editor, and editor-in-chief of a number of pictorials. Ya was good at both figure and landscape paintings, and has exhibited at home and abroad. He served as a member of the executive council of the Chinese Artists Association and as professor at Nanjing University.
