Yang Han (杨涵)

yanghanYang Han (1920-2014) was born in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. In 1940, he participated in the first woodblock correspondence class of the Woodblock Research Society of the Zhejiang Provincial Wartime Art Workers Association. In 1943, he joined the New Fourth Army in Subei (North Jiangsu) and became involved in editorial work for several illustrated magazines; later, he joined the Third Field Army and continued to create art work. He took part in creative work related to the compilation of an illustrated military history in the Nanjing Military Region in 1956, and two years later, he joined the Shanghai Fine Arts Publishing House, where he worked until his retirement.

Yang was well-known for his woodblock prints.
