Ye Ruiwei (1957) was born in Jianyang County, Sichuan Province in 1957. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Southwest Normal University in 1983. In 2000, he was selected as a professor of fine arts. In 2001, he was appointed as the dean of the Fine Arts Department of Neijiang Normal University. In September 2002, he was transferred to the Chongqing Institute of Education as the dean and professor of the Fine Arts Department. In 2012, the Chongqing Municipal Government awarded him the title of "Chongqing Famous Teacher".
