Yu Liang (1946) is from Shunyi, Beijing. He joined the People's Liberation Army in 1964, and while a soldier, he studied at many art academies, including Beijing Normal University and the Tianjin Art Academy, before he graduated from the Art Department of the Beijing Educational University.

Yu is known for his propaganda posters, oil paintings, Chinese paintings, blockprints, calligraphy, illustrations and other works.
