Zhang Xiushi (张秀时)
Zhang Xiushi (1938) is from Liaozhong, Liaoning Province. He graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of the Lu Xun Academy in 1964. In subsequent years, he has been active as an art editor with various publications.
Zhang is known for his figurative paintings and New Year pictures. The poster 'People's heroes' from 1984, which represents the Nine Marshals of the People's Liberation Army, is one of Zhang Xiushi's more famous creations. He collaborated with Li Linxiang on this work, which was awarded a prize.
