Jiefang (Liberation) Truck
The Jiefang truck, based on the Soviet designs for the ZiL-150 and ZiL-157, used to be the only utility vehicle around in China, both for civilian and military use. This monopoly changed in the early 1980s, when Japanese-made trucks were introduced. Nowadays, Jiefangs are only seen in less developed parts of the country.
