Bao Jia (鲍加)

Bao Jia (1933-2021) was from He County, Anhui Province. He joined the South Anhui Cultural Troupe (皖南文工团) in 1949 and started creating artworks, stage sets, paintings and cartoons. He studied in the Wu Zuoren Studio of the Department of Oil Painting of the Central Academy of Fine Arts from 1963 to 1965. His oil paintings were often exhibited, both in China and abroad, and several were acquired by the National Museum of China and the National  Art Museum of China.

Among his many official functions were executive director of the Chinese Artists Association, vice chairman of the Anhui Cultural Federation and chairman of the Anhui Artists Association, and he was recognized as National first-class artist.
