Chen Mou (1937) is from Beijing. He entered the Chinese Painting Department of the Central Art Academy in 1955 and graduated five years later under Ye Qianyu. After graduation he took up teaching and returned to the Central Art Academy in 1964 to become a professor.

Chen's strength lies in figurative work, but in his later art, he has concentrated on gongbi 工笔 ('meticulous') and solid color works. His art has been collected by the China Art Institute, the Central Art Academy and museums abroad, including in Denmark.
