Chen Songlin (1940), also known as Xie Tian (谢田), was born in Jiande, Zhejiang Province. He graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts in 1967, majoring in figurative painting.

He is known for his Chinese paintings and his works have been selected for national art exhibitions many times, and he has won many outstanding art book awards and editorial awards.
