Chen Xiongxun (1943) was born in Zhaotong, Yunnan Province. He graduated from the Yunnan Academy of Fine Arts with a major in oil painting in 1966, and entered the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1982 to 1984 to study mural painting. In 1985, he was transferred to the Qingdao Textile Institute of Technology to teach. In 1988, he was transferred back to the Yunnan International Technology Promotion Company. Chen participated in many national art exhibitions.
