dongchenshengDong Chensheng was born in Fengrun, Hebei Province, in 1929. When he was a teenager, he helped his father draw statues of gods and Buddha. By the age of 14, he could earn a living by selling paintings and became a famous "child prodigy" in Qinhuangdao. He joined the military in 1948, first as an "artist", and then as an art editor at the newspaper. He is good at ethnic minority figure painting and opera figure painting. Since 1976, he has published more than ten books and periodicals. In addition to several exhibitions on the mainland, his paintings have also been exhibited in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Africa, and the French overseas province of Reunion. Some of his works have been collected by museums and art galleries at home and abroad.
