Dong Lianbao (1935) is from Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province. In his youth he dabbled in oil painting and water colors, but after 1960 he took up blockprinting. He later became deputy head of the Collection Management Department of the Shanghai Art Gallery.

Dong has been awarded honors for his blockprints. Some of his work have been included in the collection of the China Art Gallery.
