Ge Pengren (1941, Dongliao, Jilin Province) graduated from the Middle School Attached to the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1961, and from the Oil Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1966. In 1969, the government sent him to Guinea to paint murals for the presidential palace. He graduated from the graduate class of the Oil Painting Department in 1980, and stayed at the school to teach. In 1985, he participated in the establishment of the fourth studio of the Oil Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
