Gu Qun (1928) was born in Beijing. She studied Western painting at the Peking National School of Art in 1944, and graduated from the Fine Art Department of Huabei United University in 1949. She later worked at the Shandong Art College and the Central Academy of Fine Arts.

Ms. Gu specialized in New Year pictures, stained glass and ceramics.
