Huang Kunyuan (1944) was from Luoding, Guangdong Province. He was engaged in arts and crafts design in his early years and worked in the Guangzhou Institute of Arts and Crafts and the Guangzhou Erqing Art Design Company. In the early 1970s, he was mainly engaged in the creation of posters. His representative works include the posters "The Motherland Is Everlasting" (祖国春常在) and "Soaring Chinese Sons and Daughters" (腾飞吧中华儿女).
Huang is an oil painter, propaganda painter, watercolor painter, theorist and amateur educator, and an enthusiastic social activist.
