Hu Dezhi (dates unknown) graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the Guangxi University of Arts in 1968. He was assigned to the Guangxi Regional Cultural Bureau, responsible for the organization of local art creation, and several works were exhibited and published. He was admitted to the Art History Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1978. In 1981, he lectured on "Appreciation of Chinese and Foreign Art Works" and "The History of Chinese and Foreign Art" at the Beijing Film Academy, where he was named a lecturer in 1987 and an associate professor in 1992.
