Hu Yuelong (1935) was born in Daxie, Zhejiang Province. He graduated from the Oil Painting Department of the China Academy of Art in 1962. He is known for his oil paintings, watercolors and gouache paintings. Two of his oil paintings habe been collected by the Chinese Military Museum; two others have been  collected by a memorial museum in Jiaxing.
