Jian Chongzhi (简崇志)

Jian Chongzhi (1949-2023) was from Shunde, Guangdong Province. He graduated from the Affiliated Middle School of the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 1979. He served as an art cadre in the Nanping Cultural Center of Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province; and the Chongqing Iron and Steel Company Club.

Jian was good at oil paintings, watercolors, and gouaches. He was the first painter to discover and depict Jiuzhaigou (九寨沟). He began to emerge in the Chinese painting world in the mid-1970s, and won wide acclaim and praise at home and abroad for his large number of landscape paintings.
