Jiang Zhenli (1940) was born in Guiping, Guangxi Province. In 1960, he joined the Fine Arts Department of the Guangxi Academy of Arts. In 1964, he graduated from the Guangxi Academy of Arts with a Bachelor in Oil Painting. He served as deputy editor-in-chief of the Lijiang Publishing House; the Guangxi Fine Arts Publishing House; as editor-in-chief of Modern Calligraphy (现代书法) magazine; as editor-in-chief and editor of the China Watercolor (中国水彩) series; and as president of the Guangxi Watercolor Painting Association.

Jiang is good at watercolor painting and art theory.
