Liang Hongtao (1939) is from Zhaoyuan, Shandong Province. After his graduation from the Zhejiang Art Academy in 1963, he was sent to work in the technological research office of the Shanghai Silk Company. He transfered to the Shanghai Municipal Art Creation Office in 1975.

Liang is known for his figurative work, some of which has been included in the collection of the China Art Gallery.
