Liu Rongfu (刘荣富)

Liu Rongfu (1909-1999) was a native of Jiaocheng, Shanxi Province. In 1928, he left for Japan, and in 1935, he graduated from the Imperial Art Academy in Tokyo. Upon his return in 1938, he became professor in the Beiping Fine Arts Training School. In 1943, he left for Japan again. When he returned to Harbin in 1948, he became editor-in-chief of the art section of the Northeastern Illustrated [东北画报, Dongbei huabao]. Liu was known for his oil painting.

In the period 1949-1984, Liu taught at a number of art academies.
