Liu Zijiu (刘子久)

liuzijiuLiu Zijiu (1891–1975) was born in Tianjin. In 1920, he graduated from the advanced class of the Beijing Army Surveying School, and then joined the Beijing Chinese Painting Research Association. After finishing his studies, he served as a tutor of the Chinese Painting Research Association and began his art career of selling paintings and teaching apprentices. After 1926, Liu gradually found it difficult to move forward in the Beijing painting circles, so he returned to his hometown in 1931, worked in the Tianjin Art Museum and Museum, and founded the Tianjin Traditional Chinese Painting Research Association, where he was elected as the chairman.
