Li Wenxin (1927-2006) hailed from Shuangliu, Sichuan Province. In 1941, he started his arts training at the Southwest Art School. He became a research fellow in the Fine Arts Department of the Southwest People's Art Academy in 1950, and three years later, he took up a teaching job at the Southwest Art School. Finally, he became a professor at the Sichuan Art Academy.
Li was known for his figurative and landscape painting. His works have been included in the collection of the China Art Gallery.
