Lu Dehui (1937) is of Man ethnicity. He was born in Jingbohu, Heilongjiang Province. After his graduation from the Central Industrial Art Academy in 1961, he has taught at various institutes. His most recent posting was as an associate professor at the Tianjin Industrial Art Academy. Lu makes frescoes, jewelry, New Year prints, Chinese painting, paper cuts and sketches. One of his murals can be found in the Great Hall of the People.

From 1993 until 2009, Lu lived and worked in the United States.
