Lü Pin (1918-1990) was from Yantai, Shandong Province. He graduated in 1942 from the Beiping Art School and in 1949, he went to Qingdao (Shandong Province) to teach art in the Qingdao Art School. In 1956, he taught shortly at the Beijing Art Academy, but returned to a position in the art section of Shandong Normal College. Later, he taught at the Shandong Art School and the Shandong Art Academy. At heart, Lü was a water colorist.
