Ma Hongdao (1942) hails from Yantai, Shandong Province. He graduated from the Oil Painting department of the Zhejiang Art Academy in 1966. Since then, he has worked with the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) and the Cultural Palace in Yingtan, Jiangxi Province.

Ma specializes in oil painting. The work 'Our country is a united and unified multi-cultural nation', made in collaboration with Ding Yuguan and Ni Fanghua, belongs to the collection of the Nationalities Cultural Palace in Beijing.
