Mo Lang (1910-1963) was born in Huqing county, Hebei province. He studied, and later taught, at Furen University. After the foundation of the People's Republic he started creating New Year prints, and became full time employee at the People's Fine Arts Publishing House (⼈⺠美术出版社), Beijing. Besides New Year prints, he created paintings and comics. Mo often used traditional Chinese painting techniques and treated subjects from Chinese folkore and literature.
