Peng Shigen (1940) is a native of Shuangfeng, Hunan Province. He graduated from the Arts and Crafts Department of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1965. After graduation, he joined the army and served as an artist and deputy director in the military club of the Guangzhou Military Region. In 1986, he transferred to the Lingnan Fine Arts Publishing House, where he was mainly engaged in textbook editing and published several sets of art textbooks.
