Sun Jiefan (1932) was a native of Suzhou, Anhui Province. He graduated from the East China Branch of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1955, and studied under Yan Wenliang, Pan Tianshou, Fei Yifu, and Pan Yanzhu.

He focuses on landscapes, but also draws New Year pictures and comics. He has published hundreds of works, his works have been exhibited in provincial, national, and foreign exhibitions and have been collected at home and abroad.
