Sun Xun (1932) is from Tianjin. He joined the People's Liberation Army in 1949 and worked as an artist in his spare time. In 1955, he finished his study of oil painting at the Northeast Art School. He was last attached to the Chinese Artist Association in Shenyang City.

Sun is known for his cartoons and oil paintings; one of the latter has been included in the collection of the Museum of the Chinese Revolutionary Army.
