Tang Guangtie (汤光铁)

Tang Guangtie (1934) hails from Peng'an, Sichuan Province. In 1950, he joined the People's Liberation Army, where he was active in various artistic endeavors. He left the Army in 1970 and worked in the Sichuan Provincial Cultural Bureau, as art editor for the monthly Mass Literature and Art (大众文艺, Dazhong wenyi) and in the Fine Arts Research Section of the Sichuan Provincial Mass Art Center. Later he was head of the Sichuan Sculpture and Art Institute.

Tang is a painter in the traditional style.
