Tang Xiaohe (1941) was born in Wuchang, Hubei Province. After his graduation from the Fine Arts Department of the Hubei Art Academy in 1965, he was selected to work in the history painting creation group of the Chinese Revolution Museum. In the summer of 1966, the creation group was disbanded due to the "Cultural Revolution" and he returned to the Hubei Provincial Academy of Fine Arts to participate in the movement. Later he was vice-director of the Institute, and resident artist.
Tang is known for his oil paintings and murals. A number of his works have been included in the collection of the China Art Gallery.
