Tian Kesheng (1940) is from Changchun, Jilin Province. He graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the Beijing Art Academy in 1963 and entered the Oil Painting Department of the Central Art Academy in 1964, from which he graduated in 1965. That same year he was assigned to work in the Creative Office of the Cultural Section of the Wuhan Airforce. In 1986, he transferred to the Shenzhen Police but remained active artistically. The next year, he joined the Shenzhen Painting Academy.

Tian is an oil painter who has received many prizes for his works.
