Wang Dejuan (王德娟)

Wang Dejuan (1932) was born in Wujin, Jiangsu Province. After her graduation from the Central Art Academy in 1954, she was employed as the art editor of the journal Sino-Soviet Friendship (中苏友好报). In 1957, she was tranferred to the Central Art Academy to teach, and in 1973, she took up employment as an art professor in the Beijing Film Academy. She again took up teaching at the Central Art Academy in 1979. In 1984, she was assigned by the Ministry of Culture to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris, France, for one year.

Ms. Wang's specialty is oil painting. "Chairman Mao with women's militia members" is considered as one of her representative works.
