Wang Qinghuai (1909-1982) was born in Fuyu, Jilin Province. From 1927-1933, he studied at various institutes, including the Beiping Jinghua Art Training School and the Art Academy of the National Beiping University. In 1935, he returned to the Northeast. After 1946, he taught art at the Fuyu Middle School until 1958, when he became a teacher at the Jilin Art Training School in Changchun. He was made a professor at that school in 1979.
Wang was known for his landscapes, but was also well-versed in flower-and-bird paintings and portraits. His 1974 painting 'Morning sunlight in a sea of trees' (林海朝晖 - Linhai zhaohui), also printed as a poster, can be found in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
