Wang Tao (1943), formerly known as Wang Shouxin (王守信), was from Hefei, Anhui Province. In 1967, he graduated from the Art Department of Anhui Normal University. In the years 1979-1982, he participated in the postgraduate class of Chinese figurative painting at the China Academy of Art (formerly the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts).
